Christmas 2020

With Christmas around the corner everyone at Wallbank is looking forward to spending some time at home with their loved ones and stuffing their faces with food and perhaps a little drink too. With just a couple of weeks to go we are completing work on numerous sites across the Northwest area.

The weather is staring to set in but it hasn't slowed the industry and our work load down just yet. Covid 19 may have changed how Wallback operates, and on occasion the way we interact with our clients, but it hasn't reduced the request for fencing work, in fact we are busier than ever! We have adapted like many other business and zoom is our 'new best friend' along with hand sanitiser and the all important facemasks.

During 2020 we have also seen Georgie from the office progress her working career and move down south, with Emma taking over her role in the office. The company has purchased a shiny new van, redesigned the website and we have completed fencing work using innovative new products like the HSF Hoardsafe.

In recent years construction as a whole has be very aware of its impact on the environment . There is now more focus and effort going in to reducing this impact. During the latter half of 2020 there has been additional focus on the effects of dust on staff and the serious respiratory issues inhalation of dust particles and fumes can cause. Emma has completed a Qualitative face fit training course to allow her to fit all our operatives with suitable masks. It has also equipped her with the skills she needs to identify marks which may be counter fit or unfit for purpose.

So looking back at just a few of the projects we have completed in 2020 here are some of our favorites.

Cobra Biologics

Cobra Biologics, one of Keele University Science and Innovation were actively involved in the development of a Covid 19 vaccine. Whilst they were hard at work so were we, installing this 3.6m high mesh and timber infill system.

Between the planed timber & mesh sections vertical ivy screens will be grown. The ivy will complete the softer look the client wanted to achieve on this scheme, whilst still maintaining security for the site.

Mesh panel systems are very versatile and can be adapted, to suit many requirements. The dark green powder coated finish RAL 6005 on this mesh will complement the ivy but our mesh systems can be powder coated in a large range of colours.

868 Twin wire mesh was used for the ivy screens. Each steel panel features twin 8mm wires welded either side of 6mm vertical wires

HSF with a full length clamp bar was used for the timber sections. This mesh has 200 x 55mm apertures with a 5mm wire diameter. The full length clamp bar helps to prevent tampering at the point of fixing. It is a panel that is ideal for stepping up and down slopes and uneven ground.

Novus -Knutsford Cheshire

We were on the Novus Site @ Parkgate Industrial Estate Knutsford for several weeks installing large cantilever sliding gates, HSF mesh and planed timber fencing.

We installed 2 6m wide X 2.4m high tracked sliding gate and 6 manual gates.

We think it looks fantastic and we are very proud of how hard our team worked on this project. The black painted timber is striking and really adds to the esthetics of the site as well as its security.

Manchester Airport

We completed a wide variety of work for BCEGI @Manchester Airport including pedestrian barriers, post and rail, chain link and installation of the J safe system on top of a concrete capping. The work has been varied and face paced but our skilled installers have been made good progress every week. We were aided with some fantastic customer service from Scott Jennings and all the team at Altrad Generation UK who supplying some of the materials and kept pace with our installation.

Everyone at Wallbank Fencing Ltd would like to wish our clients and suppliers, new and old, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are not 100% sure what 2021 will bring but we look forward to the year ahead. We hope you enjoy the Christmas break and put your feet up for a well deserved rest!
